Hello all my followers. I have divided my blog posts out to several different blogs based on posting topics. It did not seem right to have a blog post about Homeschooling one day and then the next day have a blog post about being a Survivor of Abuse all on the same blog. Continue reading
Sometime in this last week. I was talking with my five year old. I had mentioned my crock pot in a conversation and he wanted to know what that was. I was surprised he did not know what a crock pot was. But as I thought about it, I really have not used my crock pot in a long time. Continue reading
So I have declared Thursday as Moms day off. Why? Because Thursday is the one day I am not running crazy busy ALL day, just PART of the day. So, no, I do not really get the whole day off. But I try to take some time in the day for me. Today in the middle of the day I sent my kids off to play, had the house to myself, and I could not think of what to do, just for me. I kept almost starting to-do tasks, or working on projects. I kept having to remind myself that I was taking a break. I relaxed, caught up on some blogs, wanted to blog some new posts… But my brain seemed blocked and could not blog. So now…. I have stayed up several hours after bed time blogging about all the things I wanted to do on my day off. Ah well… Best laid plans… I had fun blogging, and, I did spend some time not doing any important tasks, just taking a break, so that was good.
That feeling when you get down to the end of the day. You are exhausted. And you cant remember what you did all day. Instead all you can see is the to-do’s you are surrounded by that you did not get to.
In the past I have blogged about my to-done’s so that I can feel a sense of accomplishment. Instead of feeling frustrated at all I did not do. Continue reading
My third daughter has struggled quite a bit with dyslexia. We happily stumbled upon a wonderful reading tutor who has been helping her with reading quite a bit. She has been making steady improvements because this reading tutor knows exactly what my daughter needs to work on. We have been very happy with her and with the steady improvements in my daughters reading. I have been transferring over old blog posts from 2009. They were on a blog I had that was dedicated to Aluminum Allergy. It was a blog I wrote when I discovered that Alum powder is often in foods. The foods that are most likely to have alum are pickles (for crispness) tortillas (for crispness and anti caking) baking powder and many baked goods such as cakes, cookies etc (for anti caking), and sometimes even special sauces at restaurants (like cheese sauce, again for anti caking). First I remember many of the times when people have expressed in any way criticism of me.
Then I totally believe that the criticism is valid, and that they meant the worst of any number of ways their comment could be taken.
Then I feel low and messed up for all those ways I can be criticized.
Then I can only see my flaws, and nothing good about my self.
Then I get depressed. Continue reading
Don’t you just want to take a bite?
To bad I can not send their smell through the computer. Maybe in the future computers will not only let us see and hear, but also smell. Of course it would only give you a syntheticscent, and most synthetic scents are toxic. Continue reading
Today the city is leaving a dumpster at our home. We had hoped to have the home cleaned out and all the extra unwanted stuff, that was not good enough for the DI, ready to go into the dumpster. But alas that is not where we are at. I took today off of work because I feel and inspiration coming on, and I am ready to attack my home. These To-Do lists on here have proven to be helpful so I am going to try that again today. Well.. Actually my to do list is simple to get me started. Continue reading
